The Metropolitan Traffic Police Department in association with Rastriya Banijya Bank has installed new traffic lights in Nagasthan, Kathmandu from today. The newly installed lights were jointly inaugurated by SSP Janak Bhattarai, Division Chief- Traffic Light Division, and Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer – Kiran Kumar Shrestha, by pressing the switch.
Speaking at the program, SSP Bhattarai said, “We are intensifying the work of connecting traffic lights in different junctions to help manage the transportation problems. The management of traffic through technology will help the traffic of common road users as well as maintain road discipline and reduce accidents.”
Similarly, the CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Kiran Kumar Shrestha, said, “The bank has been carrying out its social responsibility and assisting various sectors accordingly. Traffic lights play a very important role in daily road management and the installation will play a helping role in coordination with the division. Shrestha also expressed that the bank is always ready to prioritize and cooperate with the development and use of technology for solving vehicle pressure, road accidents, and other traffic problems in Kathmandu valley.
Similarly, Mr. Chinakaji Maharjan, Chairman of ward no. 22, praised the recent work of traffic police in traffic management and accident minimization.
